NamalskWeatherCore
A living Namalsk climate with layered temperature and smarter event scheduling.
Designed by HypTopiaServer-side implementation
About This Mod
Namalsk should feel hostile in different ways across a session. HypNamalskWeatherCore layers temperature on top of the base climate: nights are colder than days, high ground is colder than the coast, and regional climate zones can run warmer or colder than the rest of the map. Blizzards, extreme cold and snowfall push temperatures down further while they are active.
It also drives the timing of Namalsk's shared event scheduler. Aurora, blizzards, extreme cold, snowfall, heavy fog and EVR storms each have their own timing and weight, the same major event is unlikely to repeat back to back, and a cooldown after major events gives players room to recover. Event frequency scales with server population, and the schedule carries over through restarts.
Weather history is recorded on the server, so the climate can be tuned from real data rather than guesswork.
Core Features

Altitude cooling: high ground is colder
Regional climate zones
Extra cold during blizzards, extreme cold and snowfall
Weighted scheduling for aurora, blizzards, cold, snowfall, fog and EVR
No back-to-back repeats and recovery time after major events
Event frequency scales with player count
Schedule and weather history persist through restarts
Latest Changelog
v2.6.3 - Fixed a state-save bug that wrote a failure message to the log after successful saves - Successful saves are silent again; real save failures still log the full error - Weather scheduling and event selection are unchanged
